More than fifty years ago, ANCA Group was founded by Pat Boland OAM and Pat McCluskey OAM with a clear conviction: that applying the world's best control technology to toolmaking could fundamentally change what machines were capable of. At the time, precision manufacturing was constrained by the limits of mechanical systems and early controls. Their work helped push those boundaries, contributing to the development of CNC as we now know it and establishing a culture built on deep engineering, practical problem-solving, and long-term thinking.

As the technology matured, so did the scope of the work. What began in toolmaking grew into a broader mastery of control, drive, and software systems — developed not in isolation, but through decades of building, operating, and supporting complex machines in real industrial environments. This experience shaped an understanding of reliability, determinism, and performance that only comes from deploying systems at scale.

Today, ANCA Motion carries this legacy forward as a standalone company within the ANCA Group. The focus has expanded beyond toolmaking to support a wider range of industries facing increasingly complex automation challenges. Built on decades of accumulated expertise, ANCA Motion delivers motion and control solutions designed to perform reliably in demanding environments, scale into production, and adapt as requirements evolve.
